Architecture Bath Edition III proposed to contribute to the project of securing the Neptune Baths, by protecting and securing the main facade, by designing and making a wooden scaffolding, located in the area of three volumes of facade, where the need to protect both the monument and potential passers-by is absolutely necessary. The choice of material is based on the technical emergency intervention project developed in 2017, based on which the Association received the approval of the County Directorate for Culture Caras-Severin and the Building Permit No. 3 / 13.02.2019, reversible works are provided and which aim to remove the public danger label that the monument currently has. Stage I of the site began in November 2019, and the works proposed for execution were successfully completed by a company specialized in the field and under the close supervision of the site manager from the National Heritage Institute.
As elements of the exposed brick facade continue to fall on the street, especially in the rainy season, and this poses a danger to passers-by and the large number of tourists present in the resort, we propose this intervention, which has a dual role:
Protection;
Sculptural object, where informative materials about the monument can be arranged, the HerculaneProject platform, as well as informative materials about the partners and sponsors of the safety project.
The school was organized in two stages, namely
Architecture competition dedicated to architecture students
Execution period – 10 days in Băile Herculane
The winners of the 3rd edition architecture competition were Diana Sava and Mihai Șom, Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism Bucharest.
